This is from the special and limited collection from the 2005 produced specifically for the 2005 Zandra Rhodes: A Lifelong Love Affair with Textiles: Retrospective of Zandra Rhodes work that was shown at the Fashion and Textile Museum, London. It is an incredible display of her talents on print and textile and draws back on her greatest designs. A "butterfly" caftan is is almost weightless and done in a vibrant, deep hued pink silk chiffon. Pretty blossoms splay across its surface. I love the deep front and back with its ties in piped matching fabric. The arm and hem are a curved and cut deep scalloped finish giving the piece an extra feel of airiness and floating. Very beautiful, very collectible and rare and it was never worn so is in perfect condition!
Bust: no true side seams
Waist: 17-20" flat across from side seam to side seam, but on bias and meant to fit loosely
Hips: open
Bodice: 12" from the neck to top center seam and each side drops to approx 17" from shoulder:
Skirt: approx 46" from that center spot in the front to longest point of hem
Total length: 60" from shoulder to very longest points but it does come up a bit on as it is all cut on the bias.
Unlined and slips over the head. Ties sit at the neck and also at the back. Once on it just drapes into place so is very forgiving size wise. The color is best shown in the close up
